CB... I love you. Great beer, fair price, consistent food. Why complain?

Came here after hearing my boyfriend brag about how delicious this place is and boy was he right about that! We didn't have to wait too long to be seated despite the place being quite busy during a Saturday night and received a huge table to sit in. Not that I mind, of course! They have a lot of food to choose from and I was conflicted with a lot of food that all seemed equally delicious but decided to choose the Armadillo Eggs (no real armadillo meat though haha) But anyways it was extremely delicious. I had high expectations for that dish based on what I've heard from it and yet it was surpassed with how it tasted. 10/10 As for my main course I ordered the Potts Mac and Cheese with fried Jalapeno and Pork Green Chili. Not really a fan of paying for additional ingredients for the mac and cheese but the pork green chili tasted really good with the mac and cheese! I definitely recommend that topping for those who wants to spice up the cheesey goodness. Probably would have given this place a 3.5/5 stars if it wasn't for their Armadillo Eggs but definitely not a bad place to try out.

I went to CB Potts for a quick appetizer, nachos. They were horrific. How do you screwup nachos, really. I had to eat it with a fork because there were about 10 chips on the plate. Yes, I asked for more. 15minutes later they show up. I was done by then. On a positive note, the Helles was excellent!

Always a family favorite when folks are visiting. I am always impressed with the beers and new menu items that CB comes up with. The service is excellent! I recommend signing up for their email specials!

Oh you changed the recipe on those delicious, fat, crispy onion rings! Now they are skinny, floppy, greasy and soggy. Why would you do that? Also the pretzel bun is now like pasty white bread. It literally deflated slowly on my plate like a flat basketball. This new menu is not going to bring people back again. Customers recognize when you're cutting corners!

Great place to watch a football game. The service was quick and friendly and the food was tasty. Not a gourmet restaurant but there are a lot of menu options to choose from. Standard American chain restaurant food: burgers, sandwiches, nachos, etc... But I give a fourth star because of how generally easy and plesant the staff was. Sometimes you can get better service at a family style restaurant than you get at a pricier, upscale restaurant. And when that happens, I am always a happy diner!

Came in for an early dinner and it took forever to get a Over cooked steak, forgot the Avocado on the Avocado sandwich, no garnish on the special garnished Bloody Mary, and forgot my Side! Manager did not charge for the steak to help make up for the poor meal. Don't think we'll try this place again.

We came here for a quick bite to eat after a late Broncos game. The waiter/bartender, Ben, was pleasant and efficient: stayed on top of our refills and took our order quickly upon arrival. Although we had only appetizers to choose from the menu at such a late hour, the food was pretty darn good. The sweet chili garlic chicken wings were tasty and the nachos were really filling! We've come to CB&Potts on a number of other occasions and have consistently received good service and good food In future, we'll plan to come for football games since there's a huge screen in the lounge. For those who prefer a quieter experience, the dining room is a great option. .

For not turning on the sound even 20 min before the NFC title game, this place is worth not even 1star as a sports bar!

A good brewpub bar. Went with a group of 8. The waitress made sure we could be seated quickly (though we were there at a fairly down time) and was willing to do separate checks. Burgers, beer and tacos were good. The menu had a pretty good selection.

For us Cali folks, this is your typical BJ'sesque brewery. Large menu and extensive beer selection. We stopped by for late night eats and late night eats we got. The joint is until 12am on Mon-Sat. Although late night they only serve appetizers but their options available is extensive. The dining space in both the main dining area and lounge was spacious and we all loved the open feel due to the extremely high ceilings. The lounge area was decked out with Denver memorabilia including a huge neon Denver Broncos sign. Hmm I wonder if I can watch a Laker Game here. Since it was late, the lounge area was the choice for dining. We snagged a raises booth and started browsing through the menu. Late night Happy Hour is offered from 9pm until close and both drink and food specials are available. Jesi was our server for the night and was very sweet and chipper. She explained to us several beer options and even sold this non beer lover on a tall pint of beer when she described the Tangerine Ale. She gave us a minute to decide on our eats and double checked what size we wanted as some items we ordered were both on the HH menu and regular ap menu. Before our order arrived Jesi brought out small side plates and extra napkins. Our food order came out in no time and we were off to snacking on the following eats, Buffalo chicken tenders Loaded Nachos Potato Wedges Thai Chicken Wrap BBQ wings For what it is, the food is good. No thrills or frills and very straight forward brewery food. Jesi was great and the HH pricing is a steal. I can see this being our late night eats spot as it is about a block away from our humble abode. See you soon CB&Potts.

Our burgers were ordered medium well and were burnt like hockey pucks. The rolls were also dry and crumbling and the fried were served cold. Our service was also terrible. My kids did not get their drinks until 15 minutes after their food was served. The waitress did not even refill our drinks, and when we asked for some like like mayo, it took her 10 minutes to get it. She had 2 tables, that's it! The only positive was that the beer cheese soup was delicious but I that's not enough to make me go back.

The service was hit or miss. When I first got there, I think everybody was on break at once. Lots if staff milling about, only one person taking orders even though the bar was packed because it was trivia night. Once I got the attention of a waitperson, things did get better. My server was really nice and effecient. The IPA was pretty good, not stellar. The food was okay. I had a salmon salad and the salmon was fishy in a not-the-freshest kind of way. The salad and the dressing were really good though. There was hummus and pita and the pita was just ever-so-slightly overtoasted and the manager brought out a fresh plate just because, which I thought was very cool and made me think a lot more of the service. The trivia part was fun, I would totally go back for that and a beer or two.

15 minutes, no server, get up to find someone. He gets us drinks tells us our server is busy. 10 more minutes later she finally graces is with her presence. Doesn't as is how we are, apologize for the wait, tell is her name, just asks what we want for dinner. As she's here I can taste her perfume. Her long hair is down. Now I'm a server too if you're busy I get it, but if I was so far in the weeds I couldn't greet my table for 25 minutes id have given it to someone else. Terrible service.

I love the food here, and have never had a bad order. The beer cheese soup always sounds good to me! The burgers, the salads...all delicious. However, the last three times I've been here, the service was sub-par. On our most recent visit, our food took a ridiculously long time to come out- probably 30 minutes or so. The time before that, the waitress was inattentive, and we had to ask her three times for water, and then three times for our check. When I went with a large group, it took so long just to order that I had to leave before the food came out. At that point, it had been over an hour and a half. I asked the kitchen to make my measly bowl of soup to go, and didn't get to enjoy dinner with my friends. The next day, I learned that it was almost a four hour dinner! I'm hoping the service improves, because I really enjoy this restaurant.

Horrible service and I mean horrible. Food was just ok. Won't be back. The place was pretty empty on a Sunday evening. Seems to be a trend with a lot of these big box restaurants. Cheap sub par food, lack of quality service and over priced.

    (2)
  • Randy J.

I gave this a four star because the service is great and the bathrooms are always clean. The menu is a typical chain restaurant one. However, the food is cooked well and the beer is four stars. It has a good bar for sports watching and they have a room for a group. It is not, so pricey, so take the family and your won't destroy your budget.

We had dinner there yesterday and I could not believe how bad the service was. Orders were wrong, things promised by wait staff was never brought out and the coffee was served cold. Not sure if it was just my luck last night but I probably will not be returning.

I love this place! All of the staff are amazing and so fun to be around! I've been coming here for 5 years and I've made friends with the brew master and all of the staff! I feel like it's my local cheers where everyone knows your name! Overtime I come on everyone is happy to see me! I always have fun conversations and we always taste what's brewing. Food is amazing and I don't know why people have a problem with the service? Maybe they have issues, I've always seen the staff go above and beyond to make patrons feel welcomed! I highly recommend this place for winding down after a long day and enjoy the great people here.

I normally find CB Potts really good and accompanying but tonight I turn up more than 2 hours before closing only to be told "appetizers only". I guess if the waitress wasn't talking with her buddies for over 10 minutes and given me the menu as I arrived I might have got food. What is more annoying is that you see tables with freshly delivered food from the "main menu". They are usually better than this, but it looks like new staff.

Use to be one of my fav spots but they changed the menu and got rid of a lot of my favorite things which has me not coming back. The server I had was awesome though.

We had 11 people at dinner on a Sunday. Our waitress did her best, but the service was horrendous. Cold food, tons of un-bussed tables. Dinner took 2.5 hours. We talked to the manager and he remarked "we know it didn't go right, but that's not your fault." Really? I have been a pretty frequent patron of Potts, but after this meal I would not go back.

One of my favorite Philly cheesesteaks! I know.. I know that seems odd but it's true! The meat is always so juicy and tender with this incredible ability to melt in your mouth with a smooth buttery taste that makes me do a happy dance in my seat! It's a bit pricey if you order a couple drinks and dessert but on occasion I'm willing to splurge for this! Hahha

This CB & Potts in HR used to be my happy hour spot a few jobs back when it was close to my office. It is over by the massive AMC, where all the chains live. They have a huge bar area and lots of drink specials every night. So it makes it a hot spot to grab a beer and commiserate. Not to mention that my hubby and I met up here on our first date so it has sentimental value! xoxo Speaking of beer :) They have a great selection of their own microbrewed beverages. My faves are the Bighorn Hefeweizen and the Buttface Amber Ale. Big mug or little pint, they will delight! Food is solid too. I mean it is bar and grill fare so it isn't gonna wow you, but good stuff none the less. I love their nachos, burgers are always well made and tasty and I particularly like their cheesesteak and french dip. It is a very open space, so it can get loud as it fills up. Still, overall it is a good spot to down a beer and app. Plus it is near the highway so if you are yearning to get the hell out the Ranch right after your drinks, you have a quick escape!

Stopped in after a movie for a bite to eat and a beer. Ordered the Maibak beer, which is now my favorite local brew. The fish and fries that was served had a mushy texture to it, there was no firmness at all to it. I don't know if it is frozen or was overcooked but it was watery and not very palatable. The place is great if you like sports on TVs and good beer but don't order the fish and fries. In fact the guy sitting next to me didn't have anything good to say about the food either and he is a regular there (he goes for the beer). I did enjoy the trivia they play in the bar, it was alot of fun.

This is a large place that is half sports bar and half restaurant. The sports bar area to the right has some bar counter seats, high tops and some booths . It's my favorite area unless I need some privacy and to have a quiet conversation... There's a HUGE main screen for sports and many smaller screens. The area on the left is a pretty standard dining area. Both areas share the exact same menu though. This is a pub and brewery, so they serve their own beers. The beers are pretty good, and this is a compliment given today's U.S. beer scene (and specifically Colorado) which has become a fierce competition and extremely high quality beers, even comparing to Europe. The food is traditional American food like burgers, sandwiches and others. Everything I had so far in my quite-a-few visits was good. No complaint but also nothing to write home about. There is plenty of parking and the service is good. They also sell a variety of their merchandise. I like this place. It's a very good option for hanging out with friends and for sports. It can get crowded sometimes though. I like to take guests from out of the country (like work colleagues visiting the States for example) here because this place is very "American" and they seem to like it.

Standing at the front waiting to be seated no less than 3 people walked by saying they would be right with us; we were off to a good start. After being seated our service went along pretty well up until the end and we spent 15 minutes waiting on the waiter to come back so we could as for our check and then another 10 waiting on him to actually bring it. This is the second time I've been to a Potts but the first time was strictly for drinks. The prices are on par with the quality of the ingredients I think but their recipes could be better. There wasn't any real flavor in any part of our meals which was particularly surprising on the armadillo eggs. In any event I'm sure we will go back considering the lack of decent options in the area for places to eat but I won't be jumping up and down to do it.

This is a go-to spot for me when I'm meeting the guys to watch a game and a family favorite. They have a huge dining room and a huge bar that are separated well. The food is great and pretty creative for a bar and grill. I have had one or two times when the service was slow, but the number of times the service has been great far outweighs that.

After usually driving past CB & Potts, I decided on having lunch here one day. Big place- decent atmosphere - big tv's.....very sports bar-ish. I am unable to sample beers during lunch so a big, diet coke was just going to have to do. Our waiter was very nice; prompt and good. I had the salmon BLAT which was on nicely toasted Texas toast, plenty of ripe avocado, etc. The salmon was more like a patty with veggies in it - I can't really pinpoint the taste which was so-so. However, it kept me nice and satisfied all afternoon with my protein fix. Sweet potato fries were the accompaniment and those were delish. Overall, a decent spot. Spacious, good service and typical bar food. Maybe we'll be back on a weekend after a movie.

I initially thought that this place couldn't possibly be that popular. I had been once before for a work luncheon and it wasn't that busy. I went again today for another work thing but it was much more casual. The place wasn't too busy at 4:30 when I arrived. But as we sat there and conversed it gradually got busier. The service was pretty good initially, but as more and more people showed up, we saw the waitress less and less. I learned that they brewed their own beer there this time and was able to sample some of it. I must say that it was pretty tasty. I really didn't eat any of the food; I had a potato skin and a couple onion rings. They weren't bad. But I can't really base my review off of it. I will tell you though, that a few things on the menu sounded pretty good. Overall it was a good experience.

I've been to many locations in the Big Horn Brewing Company's line-up; this one is "on message" with all other locations. Big food; big bar; huge TV screen. As with other locations, burgers take center stage. We visited on a week night; our party of seven was well served by a non-rushed staff. Four adults and my two teen daughters enjoyed the food. Monte Cristo Sandwich and Ruben Burger were big hits. Given the ownership structure of this brand, the menu and beer are pretty much identical to The Ram ( theram.com ) and Humperdink's ( humperdinks.com ) locations. No surprises, which is good if you like the other locations. :-)

My now wife and I had our first date here many moons ago so I have to give them an extra star just for that. We go back every year on the anniversary and just reminisce. They brew their own beer and have some really great beers on tap. I'm a burnt burger kind of guy and they can never seem to get it right but everything else on the menu I've tried is pretty good. They've got some great nachos and the service is topnotch. The bar is huge but can fill up quickly during happy hour or on the weekend so it can get very loud.

This is a great place for grabbin' a brew and watchin' a game with the fellas, a casual date with the lady-friend, or even for a kick-ass time with the whole fam damily. From the street, you'd almost think you were going to watch a film in a boutique cinema. Once you enter, the only theateresque element is the abnormally high ceiling. The decor and lighting are better than you might find at your typical brew pub, the service was very professional, and everything was clean. The ice burg wedge salad was the best I've had, and I was rather impressed by their porter, which I would recommend to any dark beer-loving patron. The bar is equipped with enough small TVs to delight those with multiple personalities, and they have one large center-mounted monitor for the single-track minds among us. I'll be back for a drink or four when I'm back in the area.

Service was slow and waiter seemed to busy to fully deal with us. He was nice put was probably spread too thin. We had mozzarella stocks for an appetizer, and they seemed very generic/out of a box. I had the BBQ chicken quesadilla. Flavor was nice but chicken was extremely dry. Husband had chicken fingers and fries.... Nothing special. The kids meal was decent. We ordered. Fish/chips and a fruit cup for my son. I think I could get better food and service at tons of other restaurants for the same price.

Decent prices ($6 for a 24oz beer!) + yummy food ( i had the shirmp fijitas and LOVED them) + huge portions ( i couldn't even finish my dinner!) + good service (our waitress was fun, attentive and very helpful in choosing meals!) + packed restaurant ( we were seated in the back room, so it was quiet enough to have good conversation and yet still part of the action)= the perfect place to celebrate a birthday with friends :)

I enjoy the atmosphere and certainly enjoyed watching Indiana beat Kentucky tonight and no I am not a Hoosier, but rather a Buckeye! I enjoyed the Blonde Beer and the chili was pretty good. The Cesar salad on the other hand was pretty limp and the dressing was just OK. This is my second visit to a CB & Potts but first at this location.

My order was messed up and the waiter took it back and said he would fix it. I stressed that the items put on the plate were items I could not touch due to EXTREME dietary restrictions. He went back, just took the item off, and brought it back out, with all the food that touched it still there and inedible. Our waitress came and the manager came and apologized and got me a new side and the waitress stressed I would not have to worry about it and I would not be charged for it. I said it was okay and she said no that was their fault and they would take care of it. Needless to say the check came and nothing was taken care of. I haven't been here in a couple years and they showed me I should just stay away.

While this isn't my normal type of place, I went there the first time this evening for an event and was pretty impressed. We had the back room rented out, and the servers/bussers were incredibly attentive to our every need. Food was brought out to us rapidly, drinks were always on hand, and dirty plates were cleared the minute they were set down. Not bad! Plus, my drinks kept getting cheaper throughout the nite, even though I was ordering the same thing! Gotta love that! If I'm out in that area of town, I would definitely try it again.

I wrote a review a couple days ago about another chain restaurant in this part of town and made the observation that management was either MIA or just didn't care. Not so with CB&Potts. We went in for lunch, the place was bustling. The greeter started to take us to our seats but apparently noticed something amiss and asked us to wait while she grabbed a towel and did some wiping down. Our waiter Bryce came by within a minute after that and got our drink orders. I had the Amber Ale which was surprisingly good and the glass was so cold it had a thick layer of frost (ending up melting into a puddle on the table so that part not so great). Wifey had a reuben sandwich while I had the reuben burger. She really liked hers, mine was uh, ok, a different mix of flavors but I think the sauerkraut doesn't go so well with hamburger. I won't discourage others from having it but I probably will go for a more mainline choice next time. Prices are a bit high but then again this is Highlands Ranch and there are a lot of young upwardly mobile types with discretionary income to be put to good purpose helping the nation out of the recession so CB is doing their Patriotic duty by moving that capital from one hand to another and thereby greasing the wheels of commerce for ourselves and our children. Thank you CB. If you read my review of the other big chain place, this is the opposite. Everyone on the staff is hustling all the time, there is constant motion. We liked it and will go back. Not so the other place.

Not a good bar to go to at 10:00 PM on Saturday night! We were looking for a bar where we could get a couple of drinks and we thought that Potts would be a good place to go. We were so wrong. Potts was charging a $2.00 cover charge just to get in the bar. On top of the cover charge, the food and drink prices were high and the bar was lifeless and empty. My recommendation: Go to Boston's next door if you are looking for a bar. At least they don't charge a cover charge and they have drink specials.

Stopped in to meet a few friends for the ruben sandwitch and a beer. I like this place a lot because of the food and the cute staff. I am getting a older but it stil feels good when a young cute watress flirtes with me as she delivered by beer. I won't say her name because I sure she has some huge football player boy friend who would cruch me...I gave her a nice tip away. I ordered a CP pots version of blue moon in honor of the full moon to night, it was so good a had three more!

Not too pleased. Food wasnt bad. It was pretty much regular american food. I had the wings. They were good, little bit on the small size, but the spice was good. We went for trivia night. I guess its a bit more crowded then. The drinks were pricey until we go to happy hour time- 9. Kind of late for a happy hour price we thought. Waitress was horrible!! She came around in the begining a bit, but after we drank water or finished our drinks she was no where to be found. Then when we wanted to leave and close our tab couldnt track her down again. Then we saw her at the waitress station texting on her phone. NO GO for me! So i walked over and told her we were leaving. She came right over after that. $50 for a 3 drinks and two meals that were OK - no thank you. Prob wont be back unless my trivia friends drag me back there!

Dear Prospective Restaurant Owner, Here's a great fajita recipe for making serious profits when times get tough: 1. take one very small chicken breast and place it on top of a heaping pile of cheap peppers and onions. Your cost: $1.38 2. chop up a head of (cheap) lettuce, a mound of (cheap) cheese, put it on a big plate, then garmish it with a teaspoon of sour cream and guacamole, and a half teaspoon of pico de gallo. Skip the salsa. Your cost: 73 cents. 3. charge $14.99 for it and cha-ching! Profit city! Dear Potential Customer: if you want decent fajitas at a fair price, don't order them at a burger joint

Really like the feel of the bar side. Lots of tv's. Excellent beer brewed on site. They have one of the best IPA's in the region. Some of the seasonal beers fall short, so ask for a sample before ordering. $3 happy hour pints is nice. The amber ale cheese dip is really good. I also really like the hummus appetizer. The sirloin salad is delicious. Most of the bar side servers are very nice and knowledgeable.

When it takes nearly 20 minutes to get 3 drinks in the bar on a Monday night when it's NOT BUSY and then your chick waitress rarely comes back to the table it's not a good sign. Eventually we got our bill and eventually she ran our credit card. Service was absolute crap.

After finding out that we'd have to wait for a movie to begin my husband, his mother and I decided to grab some lunch. Going into this place I wasn't expecting much. Seemed like an average burger joint that happened to be a brewery. Although I was pleasantly surprised. Even the beer cheese soup which I thought sounded completely disgusting was quite delicious and not nearly as salty as I thought. I tried the blt, spicy chicken salad and some other special sandwich they had. All of which was quite delicious and a little bit on the pricey side but they did have some specials that made it very attractive. Pleasant dining experience, decent environment.

I don't give food five stars very often and, I have to say, this is the absolute best sports bar food that I have ever had in the Denver Metro area. We had burgers that were some of the best I have ever had anywhere, garlic fries (to die for- yum) and the beer was really good and especially cold. For those people complaining about this place, where can you find better sports bar food, really? This isn't new age or fushion cuisine but some of the best sports bar fare in town. We'll be back.

  • Grant W.

The service here was awesome. Very freindly and fun to talk to. Food was pretty good and some of the more unique appetizers are a good enough reason to stop in. After catching a movie we decided to pop in and give the place a try and we were greeted and seated with in minutes. The configuration of the place is a little odd with combo booths and chairs everywhere but it was really comfy and with all the tv's in the place it was a real sport-aholics place to be. I would lean this to being like a 3.5 experience more than a 3 but some of the items just seemed a little pricey for what it was.

I am really good about writing bad reviews but don't show as much praise when deserved. Potts certainly deserves it. Been there twice in the last month. Once with my wife and 2 young kids and the other for happy hour with my wife. I was a little skeptical about doing Potts for a pre movie meal with the kids on a Friday night both the way they have separated the dining area, its hard to tell that you are in a bar type restaurant. The food is good here and the menu changes often, but the reason why I am giving Potts 5 stars is the service. There are so many restaurants that just can't figure out that service is what makes a dining experience great but Potts has it. My Server Phil was outstanding and was great with the kids. He had them hanging on his every word. Food was good as always. I dont recall the name of the bartender for the happy hour, but he was attentive and social, hitting us with some random trivia to spark a conversation. Had the Dezi Arnez Cuban burger, delicious! Will be back soon :)

Granted I am not a huge fan of dark beers there own brews are pretty good but not amazing. As for the food I would suggest to get their burgers I had them a few times and was quite pleased.

We love this place. The wait staff that have been there a long time are awesome! Lately, there have been some new waiters/waitresses in the bar and they're a little less friendly, folksy and helpful. But this is a small gripe. It's always clean, food and beer are great, and it's friendly. Good place!

This place brews their own beer, and it is pretty good. Generally their burgers are tastey. I did order a "lite burger" or something that was on special and you could tell it was a frozen burger. So.....stay away from that one. Not sure it was really "lite" just smaller. This isn't one of my favorite placed, but I will drop in from time to time.

I cannot help but love the beer, but somewhere down the line, the "concept" they started in Fort Collins got watered way down. Service is pretty okay from the waitstaff, but if they are busy, it can take forever to get a drink. We asked for the manager once about a bad meal, kristen is a complete witch. No bueno, and her waitress apologized for how bad the gm was. Wonderful. The wings absolutely suck, you'll get bigger ones at king soopers. Burgers are good, spinach artichoke is good too. Beer muy bueno, just the gm is not a good person, and it's painfully obvious of how that flows downhill. Bummer, because it could be quite the place. And it used to be swamped all the time, certainly no longer. The mass exodus of regulars should tell the story, as do the other local bars that are picking up because they know how to treat people.
